So I took my Durango on a bit of a road trip up the east coast over the long weekend and honestly it was amazing except for the fact that my car is now an absolute disaster zone inside and out from all the dust, sand, and random snacks my kids managed to grind into every possible surface. The exterior is covered in this fine layer of desert dust that seems to have bonded with the paint and no matter how many times I’ve rinsed it there’s still this gritty film that makes me cringe every time I look at it. Inside is even worse with sticky fingerprints all over the touchscreen, dried juice spills in the cup holders, and what looks like chocolate melted into the fabric of the third row seats which I’m pretty sure is going to be permanent if I don’t get it sorted soon. I’ve been trying to clean it myself but I feel like I’m just pushing the dirt around and not actually making any real progress and I’m worried about damaging the leather or the plastic trim by using the wrong products. I work out near the industrial area so I’ve been looking for a place that can handle both the inside and outside properly without cutting corners or using harsh chemicals that might mess up the interior surfaces. A colleague mentioned there’s a shop that does Dodge interior and exterior detailing in Musaffah Industrial and apparently they’re pretty thorough with SUVs which is a relief since I know these big cars take longer and some places try to rush through them. I’m really hoping to get the paint decontaminated and properly sealed because I don’t want this road trip dust to cause permanent etching and I need the interior to be deep cleaned to the point where I don’t feel embarrassed giving the kids a ride to school. Has anyone taken their Durango or similar large vehicle for a full detail and can tell me what kind of price range I should be expecting? I don’t want to overpay but I also don’t want to cheap out and end up with mediocre results that don’t last.
