Hospitality means that I don’t help you because I can….. but because I recognize your human dignity. So the door opens, the door of the heart opens.  It is change, letting the divine enter my house. Even the country people in Central America still tell you,  “it’s a blessing that you come to the house to visit.” That sense of encounter.

This month our Migrant Testimony comes from the “Root Causes of Migration” webinar we produced together with the Franciscan Action Network in May.

In this sense, [St. Francis] opened his heart to an encounter, and in that encounter the other he met was called “brother” and “sister.”  That is why it is a dimension that is more than religious, it is transcendental, it is divine, but its concretion is social, political and economic.

👉  We encourage you to listen to (or read) the beautiful and challenging reflection shared by Fr. Rene Flores ofm that follows the testimony.

The Franciscan Action Network has posted the full recording of the webinar, so if you missed it, you can find it here as well as the two slide presentations.

  1. Recording of the entire webinar in English and in Spanish
  2. Migration Now (James West) Slide Presentation
  3. Advocacy & Resources Slide presentation
