\nOn Friday, August 20, the training “Migration and Human Rights” began for members of the Franciscan Network on Migration. <\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n
With the presentation of the first module, “The Franciscan roots of work with human mobility,”<\/em> facilitated by Fr. Eduardo Jazo of the Regular Third Order and member of the Board of Directors of Franciscans International<\/em> and Fr. Jos\u00e9 Luis Gonz\u00e1lez, SJ of the Jesuit Migration Network Central America and North America, the first session of the RFM 2021 training was inaugurated. This training service is offered online, synchronously, through the platform Zoom.<\/p>\n
The training has the purpose of offering the members of the RFM solid personalized formation from the roots of Franciscan spirituality and human rights, with a perspective of international borders, to respond comprehensively to migrants. Approximately 35 people, from different countries including Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico and the US, actively participated in the first training module.<\/p>\n
It should be noted that this year we have extended the invitation to two sister networks: The Jesuit Migration Network and Clamor Network. They have joined us and we are delighted to collaborate as brothers and sisters in welcoming, promoting, integrating and protecting migrants and refugees, thus weaving paths of hope within the phenomenon of migration.<\/p>\n
