New migration trends are emerging in Latin America. Migrants of African and extracontinental origin are increasingly visible, before and during the pandemic.\u00a0Likewise, discrimination and violations against migrants of African descent have worsened in recent years.<\/p>\n
This side event will focus on the multi-causality of migration, examining the discriminatory practices of different countries in migration control, detention and care of the Afro-descendant and extracontinental migrant population.<\/p>\n
