The Franciscan Province of San Jun\u00edpero Serra is located in northwestern Mexico in the states of Baja California Norte, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa. In the state of Sinaloa, in the city of Mazatl\u00e1n, there is a fraternity of brothers who have served the parish of San Francisco de As\u00eds since 1984, in the neighborhood of Salvador Allende, which is in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the port of Mazatlan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The San Francisco de As\u00eds Dining Room for Migrants, for the last eight, is a project\u00a0 in favor of migrants attended by Franciscan religious and many committed lay people who belong to the parish. The brothers and sisters come mainly from Central American countries: Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Belize, and also from Mexican states in the south of the country. They are bound for the United States of America or are returning to their countries of origin.
